Grand Vista Hotel Parachute

I've never been charged to park at the hotel I'm paying to stay at. $12 seems a little ridiculous. No coffee or breakfast unless you pay $15 extra. We stopped here because it was a little closer and convenient to our end destination but there were hotels for less that had just as good of reviews. I wouldn't stay again just because of all the extra charges. The additional charges aren't necessarily an issue but when they aren't anywhere when you're booking the room it feels shady.

The front desk employee is not a cheery, welcoming person. She seems put out. Probably because she is prepped to have to deal with the ridiculous $12 per night, parking fee she is about to have to try to explain. “It’s privately owned by someone in California so we have to go by what they say.” We asked if most people complain about it and she said “yes” and she just is left to deal with it. They apparently have sent feedback to owners. They should wrapped that fee into the price so it isn’t an unexpected fee when you get here. However you can park on the street after you unload. Which we chose to do. The restaurant staff, of one, is amazing. We had the best time at dinner with her. She is tiny and mighty. Does it all! She’s funny and pleasant and is this hotels saving grace. Rooms are clean and roomy. No complaints there. It’s comfy. Oh and the breakfast is not a free breakfast in the morning, it’s $15 so just another thing to know for your trip.

Kitchen chef is amazing and very welcoming when you need to go down stairs and eat, room service can work on being more welcoming, big boned tall Mexican lady is always so rude , front desk employees are okay they are not to bad. Over all experience was 50/50 there are some things they need to work on with there employees. Next time I come to Colorado this is definitely a place I wouldn’t stay in but if I had to then this would be my last resort.

Rooms are very good and clean. Welcoming staff made our stay perfect. Vista pub (in the hotel) is a place we enjoyed the most. Ms. Lorrie is the perfect waitress. We enjoyed her service and the food is excellent. Additional parking fee is what I hate the most and deserves 0 stars, but I will ignore it just because of other positives.

Family booked a stay at this hotel via a booking website to visit local retired parents for Christmas. Arrived and were told that there would be additional parking fees. It was rediculous to charge for parking for a highway adjacent hotel surrounded by a parking lot in a small town. Our father (a local resident) called the hotel and asked about the fee. The hotel staff lied and told him that every hotel charges for parking. It was pretty unbelievable to hear someone tell such an obvious lie. We recently stayed at another hotel nearby where parking was free. The majority of hotels in the United States only charge for parking if it’s valet parking. Our father told them this wasn’t a large city, it was Parachute Colorado. Additional surprise charges make it difficult for visiting relatives. The hotel staff mentioned “they don’t give a damn about Parachute”. They also lied and mentioned the hotel was part of a nationwide chain. In fact they are owned by LWC Inc who also owns a hotel across the highway doing business under another name (the Grand River) That hotel also charges additional various fees but does not charge for parking, which is ironically funny but it just shows that their own staff will lie to the local residents while being unaware of the policies by the hotels in their “nationwide chain”. I would avoid both hotels in the future.
